Smartphone manufacturers are well-known for limiting the performance of a small number of apps on their devices in order to preserve battery life. OnePlus has been accused of slowing applications on its flagship devices. Samsung has now acknowledged to app throttling as well. According to Twitter user GaryeonHan and Korean netizens, about 10,000 applications are reportedly subjected to "performance limitations" (throttling) as part of Samsung's Game Optimizing Service (GOS) on its Galaxy phones. On the Samsung Korea community, there have been several user concerns. In response, the brand confirmed the throttling and stated that it is looking into the GOS issue.
Instagram, Netflix, Google Keep, Microsoft Office, and TikTok are among the games and popular applications on the list. Surprisingly, Samsung's own applications, such as Secure Folder, Samsung Cloud, Samsung Pay, Dialer, and Samsung Pass, are listed in the list.
Benchmark programmes like as 3DMark, AnTuTu, PCMark, GFXBench, and Geekbench 5 aren't featured surprise because Samsung doesn't want to limit benchmark apps. However, a Korean YouTuber modified the name of the 3DMark package on the Galaxy S22 to reflect Genshin Impact, which is on the list, and performed the benchmark. The benchmark score and average frame rate of the renamed package were much lower.
