Xiaomi is preparing to launch the Redmi K50 smartphone lineup in China. The series is slated to include four distinct handsets, namely the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro+, and Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 8100 5G chipsets were rumoured to power the Gaming Edition and Pro models, the CPU specifics of the forthcoming Redmi K50 Pro+ have now been leaked.
According to the company's executive, Lu Weibing, one of the K50 universe's smartphones would be powered by the premium MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. However, he did not say which model will be powered by the chipset. The standard K50 is believed to be powered by a Snapdragon 870, the Pro model by a Dimensty 8100, and the top-tier Gaming version by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The Redmi K50 Pro+ will most likely be powered by a MediaTek Dimensnity 9000 5G processor.
A source on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo has revealed that the smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 will be the Redmi K50 Pro+. The Dimensity 9000 is MediaTek's most powerful chipset to date. It features one Cortex-X2 super core, three Cortex-A710 big cores, and four Cortex-A510 small cores. It also has the ARM Mali-G710 GPU for graphically heavy activities. The chipset is constructed using TSMC's 4nm fabrication process, which is said to be superior to Samsung's 4nm node.
If the news about the inclusion of a MediaTek Dimensiy 9000 processor on the Redmi K50 Pro+ is real, the gadget will undoubtedly give its competitors a run for their money. The gadget will also have a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED Panel, a 5000mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge, a triple back camera array with a 48MP or 64MP main lens, and other features.
