OPPO is now on a roll with ColorOS 12 stable for its mid-range handsets, with various models receiving the update across multiple markets. In China, the OPPO K9 Pro 5G and Reno4 SE are the most recent additions to the list.

ColorOS 12 is based on Android 12 and includes a slew of new features and enhancements. Visual tweaks have been made to elements throughout the interface, such as icons, the quick settings panel, and system applications. Some of the updated A12 privacy features, such as the new Privacy Dashboard and microphone and camera Indicators, are also included.

If you possess an OPPO K9 Pro 5G, make sure you're on official firmware version A.14/A.15 or you won't receive the ColorOS 12 upgrade message. And for the OPPO Reno4 SE, make sure it's running firmware C.20 or C.21. To find out what firmware version you have, go to Settings > About phone > Version information > Version number.

As is customary, OTAs are being rolled out in stages, so the update may take some time to reach your device. If you haven't gotten a notification yet, you may manually check by going to Settings > Software update.

Remember that the aforementioned upgrades are for the Chinese models of the two smartphones, and there hasn't been a statement regarding a global ColorOS 12 deployment for them yet. Keep a watch out for the update notification, which should arrive outside of China shortly.
