The M1 Ultra, Apple's top-of-the-line desktop processor, had just been released. This chipset has been detected on testing platforms, and it has now been spotted on GeekBench, where it outperformed several major Intel and AMD CPUs.

According to a Tweet from @TheGalox_, the Cupertino-based company's freshly announced M1 Ultra scored 24,055 points in multi core tests and 1793 points in single core testing on GeekBench. This result was rather amazing given that it outperformed Team Blue's high-end Core i9-12900K CPU, which only received 17,299 points in the multi-core tests. Its single core tests, however, were marginally quicker, with a score of 1893.

However, when compared to Team Red's Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX chipset, the M1 Ultra's performance is rather amazing. This is an enterprise-grade processor with a multi-core score of 27603. Keep in mind that the Threadripper has 32 cores, whilst the M1 Ultra has just 20. Furthermore, we recently reported on an early benchmark of the M1 Ultra closely rivalling the 64-core Ryzen Threadripper 3990X CPU.
