According to a recent rumour, Nothing — OnePlus creator Carl Pei's new firm — might unveil its first smartphone in April. In a series of tweets last month, Pei hinted about the release of a new smartphone. According to a fresh source, Pei's business might release the smartphone as soon as next month. The device is expected to have a transparent design, similar to Nothing's first pair of true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones, which were released in 2021. The business has yet to make an official announcement about its first smartphone.

Nothing creator Carl Pei, according to TechCrunch, carried a prototype of the future Nothing smartphone to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. According to the storey, Pei presented the prototype to "important executives" from the business, including chip designer Qualcomm, according to a person close to the company. After more than a year of working on its first smartphone, the business is apparently preparing to reveal the device in April.

The rumoured Nothing smartphone's characteristics are presently unclear, since the business has yet to publish any plans or specifications for a forthcoming smartphone. According to the rumour, the handset might include "transparent components" similar to the Nothing Ear 1 TWS earphones, which were released in 2021. Pei teased a new smartphone on Twitter on February 16 in a series of cryptic posts. Pei's comments were reacted to by both the Snapdragon and Android Twitter accounts. Nothing announced in October 2021 that it had teamed with Qualcomm to use its Snapdragon platform in forthcoming products.

Nothing was initially reported to be working on a smartphone in October 2021, with a release date of early 2022. The business is also said to be working on a power bank, maybe dubbed Nothing Power (1). However, no plans for any of these gadgets have been revealed. The business recently purchased smartphone maker Essential, which might aid in the development of its rumoured first smartphone.
