Cat

Cat, the producer of rugged phones, has shifted to another product category at MWC, presenting a mobile hotspot with a twist. The Cat Q10 5G is a tough mobile hotspot that provides sub-6GHz 5G connection in a rugged chassis.

The mobile hotspot has a MIL-SPEC 810H design and an IP68 water and dust resistant rating. You'll also receive a 5,300mAh battery that can power up to 32 connections for up to 10 hours (or it can be used as a power bank).

Honor

Honor, a former Huawei sub-brand, debuted its first flagship line, the Honor Magic 3 series, last year. It isn't wasting time, though, as the Honor Magic 4 series, which includes the €899 ($1,007) base model and the €1,099 ($1,231) Honor Magic 4 Pro, was announced at MWC 2022. The latter, as expected, is the more remarkable, with 100W wired and 100W wireless charging, a diverse rear camera configuration (50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 64MP 3.5x telephoto), and an IP68 rating.

Are you interested in the Honor Magic 4 Pro? We got our hands on the gadget and its stunning camera setup. Honor also had its China-only Magic V foldable on display at MWC, and we had a chance to play with it.

Huawei

Huawei did not have any new smartphones to debut in Barcelona, but it did bring an astonishing amount of technology with it. It has the MateBook X Pro 2022 (without the awkwardly positioned camera), the MateBook E notebook, and the MateStation X iMac competitor. Our own Eric Zeman tried out the MateBook, and you can read his thoughts on it here.

The MatePad Paper e-reader/tablet hybrid was perhaps the most intriguing reveal. This gadget has a 10.4-inch e-ink display, yet it runs Harmony OS and has programmes that can be downloaded. Huawei claims that this gadget will last up to four weeks on a single charge, thanks to the power-saving e-ink display.

Lenovo

Motorola, a veteran PC participant, has a lineup of laptops on display, including a Windows on Arm device and other Google-powered gadgets. To begin with, the ThinkPad X13s is equipped with the newest Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 engine, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. The best part is that the business claims up to 28 hours of juice.
In terms of Google-powered laptops, Lenovo introduced a $400 Duet 3 Chromebook, a $500 IdeaPad Flex 5i, and a $400 IdeaPad Flex 3i. It even had the $190 Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Android tablet available.

Mediatek

The Taiwanese chipmaker is targeting the popular Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 870 processors, which are used in phones that fall in between mid-range and flagship. The Dimensity 8000 series has octa-core CPU configurations (four Cortex-A78 and four Cortex-A55), a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU, and a 168Hz refresh rate at FHD+ resolution.

Mediatek's processors also enable Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, a 200MP single camera, and 4K AV1 decoding. Realme has previously said that the future GT Neo 3 would be powered by the Dimensity 8100.

Nokia

In Barcelona, might we expect high-end gadgets from HMD? You'll be disappointed, I'm afraid. The business released three phones in its low-cost but high-volume Nokia C series. The €119 Nokia C21 Plus is the most competent model, with a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display, an IP52 certification, 2GB to 4GB of RAM, and 32GB to 64GB of expandable storage. Surprisingly, HMD claims the phone would be available with either a 4,000mAh or a 5,050mAh battery. There's also the €99 Nokia C21 and the €79 Nokia C2 Second Edition.

Oppo/OnePlus

Oppo unveiled its Find X5 Pro flagship on the Thursday before MWC 2022, but it had more to reveal during the event. The business stated that 150W charging technology will be available in a OnePlus phone in 2022. It didn't stop there, as it later exhibited 240W charging, which offers a full charge in nine minutes.

OnePlus made a few announcements of its own, including the confirmation of a global OnePlus 10 Pro launch at the end of March. If you're interested about how the device feels before it goes on sale, we got hands-on with it.

Finally, OnePlus announced that the unified operating system for OnePlus and Oppo phones has been scrapped, with Oxygen OS remaining on worldwide OnePlus phones. Oxygen OS and Color OS, on the other hand, will continue to share the same codebase.

Qualcomm

Today, Qualcomm revealed the Snapdragon X70 5G modem, which is slated to come in premium Android phones in 2023. The X70 modem maintains the same 10Gbps downlink speeds as the existing X65 modem, but Qualcomm claims that it covers all commercial 5G bands.

Realme

Realme also conducted the global premiere of the Realme GT 2 series at MWC 2022, a few months after its Chinese launch. Nonetheless, for €649 ($725), the Realme GT 2 Pro is a good buy. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, a QHD+ 120Hz OLED screen, a 50MP 150-degree ultrawide camera, and a microscope lens are among the standout features.

The regular GT 2 costs €449 ($501) and is more comparable to the original Realme GT. It has the same Snapdragon 888 SoC as the GT but adds a 50MP IMX766 primary camera and a 5,000mAh battery.

TCL

The Chinese company also had a slew of new goods to unveil at MWC 2022. It released five new phones in the 30-series, including the TCL 30 5G, TCL 30 Plus, TCL 30, TCL 30 SE, and TCL 30E. The prices of these phones range from €139 ($156) to €249 ($280). All of these phones are equipped with big 5,000mAh batteries with Android 12 out of the box.
TCL also revealed pricing for the Verizon-exclusive 30V and T-Mobile-exclusive 30XE, which will cost $299 and $199, respectively. Because the 30V is a mmWave 5G device, it might be the cheapest mmWave phone in the US.

The consumer electronics company also unveiled four new tablets: the Tab 10S 5G, Nxtpaper Max 10, 1Tab 10 FHD 4G, and Tab 10 HD 4G. The former is the most capable here, with an unspecified Mediatek 5G SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and an 8,000mAh battery available for €349 ($393).

Xiaomi

Xiaomi did not make any announcements, but its Poco sub-brand did, announcing the Poco M4 Pro 4G and X4 Pro during MWC week. The latter is a rebranded Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G with a Snapdragon 695 SoC, 120Hz OLED screen, and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired charging.

Meanwhile, the Poco M4 Pro 4G varies significantly from the 5G model, using a 90Hz OLED screen and Mediatek Helio G96 processor rather than the 5G variant's 90Hz LCD panel and Dimensity 810 SoC.

ZTE

At MWC, the Chinese maker displayed a bevvy of Blade V40 cheap phones. It didn't provide many specifics (including cost), but the Blade V40 5G appears to be the finest of the bunch. An undisclosed Dimensity 5G chipset and a 6,000mAh battery with 22.5W charging are included. The Blade V40 Pro also appears to be well-built, with a 6.67-inch OLED display, a 5,100mAh battery with 65W charging, and a 64MP primary camera.
