Before I go any further, let's talk about the pricing. Motorola has priced the Edge 30 Pro in India at Rs. 49,999 for the single 8GB RAM, 128GB storage version. SBI Cardholders may get a Rs. 5,000 immediate cashback incentive, reducing the price to Rs. 44,999. Motorola's price is quite competitive when compared to the iQoo 9 Pro, which was just introduced with the same SoC for Rs. 64,990.
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro is now the company's most costly smartphone in India, and it is apparent that the Motorola Edge 30 Pro is an ambitious launch. The glass sandwich design of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro gives it a luxury appearance, but there is a catch. For the Edge 30 Pro, Motorola has employed a plastic frame, which appears out of place. However, using metal would have made the phone much heavier. The Edge 30 Pro already has a noteworthy weight of 196g.
Motorola has curled the sides of the back glass to make it easier to handle the phone. The camera module merges into the rear panel and appears to have melted on the sides. As a result, when put on a level surface, this gadget does not rock much. The Motorola logo sits in the centre of the rear, and it has a glossy texture that makes it stand out.
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro has a 6.7-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz on the front. It is HDR10+ certified and features DC dimming as well. The display features narrow edges and a tiny hole for the selfie camera, which has a resolution of 60 megapixels. This sensor resolution is among the greatest I've seen for a front camera on a smartphone to date. Motorola has chosen Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the front, which is unexpected given that the rear is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Edge 30 Pro has dual speakers and is IP52 certified to withstand mild drops of water.
The fingerprint scanner on the Motorola Edge 30 Pro is built in the power button on the right side. The posture was higher than optimum for my hands. I would have liked an in-display fingerprint scanner, which is now standard for top smartphones. The volume buttons are higher up, and you'll have to move the phone around a little to get to them.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC that powers the Edge 30 Pro is Qualcomm's most powerful smartphone SoC to date. In India, it will also power the Samsung Galaxy S22 Series. The Edge 30 Pro supports 13 5G bands in addition to 4G VoLTE. It has a 4,800mAh battery and is capable of 68W rapid charging. In addition, Motorola has included a 68W charger in the box.
During my brief time with the Motorola Edge 30 Pro, I found it to be quite snappy, with a high display refresh rate that made the whole experience seem fluid. Android 12 comes pre-installed, with Motorola's My UX customizations on top. The business also guarantees to upgrade the phone till Android 14, which is reasonable but not as long as Samsung's recent four-year committment to the Galaxy S22 series.
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro is equipped with three high-resolution cameras. The primary camera sports a 50-megapixel sensor, optical image stabilisation, and omnidirectional PDAF. A 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 114-degree field of view is also included, as is a 2-megapixel depth sensor. I'm excited to put these cameras to the test in the entire review.
Motorola has released the Edge 30 Pro in India for Rs. 49,999. This will significantly undercut the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the iQoo 9 Pro. The pricing is comparable to that of the Asus ROG Phone 5s gaming smartphone, which is powered by the Snapdragon 888+ from last year. Those searching for the best performance at a fair price should find the Edge 30 Pro pretty appealing, and Motorola hasn't cut too many corners, as far as I can tell. However, I won't know for certain until I've finished evaluating the game performance, cameras, and software. In the entire review, I'll also assess how well the battery holds up with normal usage, so stay tuned to thegadgetscafe.in
