This Samsung cheap smartphone is rumoured to have surpassed Apple's iPhones as the most delivered smartphone in 2021. Surprisingly, the smartphone in question is the Samsung Galaxy A12. The gadget, which arrived in late 2020, has topped the list of most shipped phones by a massive 50 million+ units.
According to Omdia's 2021 report, the Samsung Galaxy A12 is the most shipped phone. According to reports, Samsung has delivered 51.8 million units of the handset, surpassing the Apple iPhone 12 as the second most shipped device. Surprisingly, the iPhone 12 costs five times as much as the Galaxy A12. The average selling price of the Galaxy A12 is $160 more than that of the iPhone 12.
In terms of the iPhone 12, 41.7 million units were sold in 2021. The iPhone 13 is the next best-selling model, with 34.9 million units sold. With 33.6 million units sold, the iPhone 11 ranks fourth.
After three flagships, the Redmi 9A, an entry-level phone, took the fifth slot. With an average selling price of $78 it is the cheapest and most delivered phone on this list. Following that are the iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro. Finally, the Samsung Galaxy A02, the 10th phone in Omdia's list, is an entry-level handset.
Notably, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the most costly phone sent according to the list. As previously stated, the Redmi 9A is the cheapest.
The fact that Samsung is at the top of this list demonstrates the popularity of the low-cost A-series phones. Since 2019, the firm has prioritised the A-series above the J-series, and the A-series' market share has progressively increased. Having said that, we anticipate seeing more A-series phones in such surveys as Samsung continues to focus on its mid and low-end segments internationally.
