MediaTek recently disclosed its consolidated revenue for the first two months of this year in a financial report. The firm has had rapid growth in recent months, rivalling Qualcomm in certain sectors, and its recently announced Dimensity 9000 has helped raise sales even more.

The Taiwanese chipmaker generated 40 billion Yuan (approximately 6.32 billion US Dollars) in revenue in February 2022 alone. This was the company's best February performance to date, with a 22.9 percent increase over the same month last year. However, the brand's performance in the first two months was similarly strong, with a total revenue of 83.531 billion Yuan (about 13.2 billion US Dollars), which was 23% more than the same time in 2021.

Furthermore, MediaTek published its sales projections for the first quarter of this year. According to firm CEO Cai Lixing (Via UDN), the revenue growth was attributable to increased penetration of the brand's 5G chipsets, as well as the debut of its new flagship 5G SoC, the Dimensity 9000. This is the company's latest high-end CPU, which will be supplied in premium-grade devices and competes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Cai Lixing also expects that MediaTek's yearly growth rate would exceed 20% this year. We have recently reported various rumours of the business coming up to, or perhaps outperforming, its chief rival Qualcomm in some quarters in 2021. With the debut of its new 5G chip, the firm is expected to enjoy strong performance in the next quarters as well. So stay tuned for additional information.
