iQOO debuted the iQOO U5 in December, featuring 5G connectivity and a Snapdragon 695 SoC, and the firm has now followed it up with a 'x' variant, which does not support 5G networks but is less expensive.
The Snapdragon 680 SoC powers the iQOO U5x, which runs Android 11-based OriginOS Ocean and has two RAM options: 4GB and 8GB. The smartphone offers 128GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage extension up to 1TB.
The U5x features a 6.51" HD+ LCD with a notch for the 8MP selfie camera, and a 3D grid design on the back panel with an island holding two cameras - 13MP primary and 2MP macro.
The iQOO U5x includes a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged at up to 10W through a microUSB connector.
The iQOO U5x 4GB/128GB variant costs CNY899 ($140/€130), while the 8GB/128GB model costs CNY1,099 ($170/€160). The U5x is already available in two colours in China via the company's official website, but its availability in other locations remains uncertain.
