This week, Apple revealed the third-generation iPhone SE, which includes an A15 CPU, 5G compatibility, a longer battery life, camera improvements, and more robust glass. While Apple has not publicised it, the new iPhone SE has more RAM.

MacRumors has confirmed, with the help of developer Moritz Sternemann, that the third-generation iPhone SE contains 4GB of RAM, up from 3GB in the previous edition. This data is derived from strings in the Xcode 13.3 Release Candidate, which Apple provided on Tuesday following its "Peek Performance" event.

The same Xcode strings have properly disclosed the amount of RAM in many generations of iPhones and iPads. The strings, for example, indicated that the sixth-generation iPad mini had an additional 4GB of RAM.

Photo and video editing software can benefit from additional RAM since they can retain more layers in memory. Additional RAM can also allow more Safari applications and pages to run in the background.

The new iPhone SE will be available for pre-order on Friday, March 11 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, the United Kingdom, and more than 30 other nations and territories. Customer deliveries and in-store availability will commence on Friday, March 18.
