The HUAWEI P50E will be released on March 16th, along with a number of other products such as the MatePad Paper ink tablet, the Sound Joy speaker, and others. Ahead of that, a tipter has revealed some details about the device.
First and foremost, the Snapdragon 778G 4G processor will power the HUAWEI P50E. (via My Drivers). The 5G version of the chip was popular in mid-range devices last year, but it still performs admirably by 2022 standards. Because of the ban in the United States, the P50E will use its 4G version.
The design of the phone will be very similar to the HUAWEI P50 that was launched in July 2021. The older device has a premium build with a unique dual-ring camera design, each housing multiple lenses.
All in all, the HUAWEI P50E looks to be a more affordable, mid-range version of the standard P50. Previous leaks had indicated that it will start at approximately 4,000 Yuan (around $630) in China.
Meanwhile, the HUAWEI P50 series, which debuted in July 2021, began at 4,488 Yuan (approximately $710), with the P50 powered by the Snapdragon 888 4G and the P50 Pro available in two chip variants — one with the Kirin 9000 4G and the other with the Snapdragon 888 4G.
Although neither device supports 5G, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, previously stated that Huawei P50 series users can still enjoy a great networking experience thanks to 4G+WiFi6+AI technologies.
