Did you know that one of Apple's most intriguing features, Find My Friends, is now available for Android devices? The Google Maps app now supports this function for locating the whereabouts of your relatives and friends. If Google Maps isn't already one of your device's apps, now is the time to add it!

Find My Friends Feature for Android

To share real-time locations with a friend or family member, you must both have the Google Maps mobile app installed on your smartphone and your friend's/family member's device. You may get it through the Google Play Store:

After installing it, use the Google Maps app to begin sharing your position. Prompts for location permission access may occur on the screen; just allow these rights. Tap on the profile photo or the first letter in the top-right corner of the screen in the app. Select Location sharing, which is the Android equivalent of Find My Friends, from the menu that opens.

If you have never shared your location with anybody before, you must first share it with a friend or family member before requesting theirs. Select New Share. Before moving on to picking a contact, you may select the time period at which you want your real-time location to be available. After you've chosen your time interval, choose one contact and press Share. Once shared, you may now request their current location by selecting the contact and pressing on Request.

A message will appear informing you that your e-mail address will be shared with them. You may deactivate this pop-up for future activities by tapping on Request once again.

Your contact will receive a notice in the Google Maps app as well as an email from you regarding your request. If you've already shared your location with someone, you may see them at the bottom of the Location sharing window and redo the appropriate actions there.
