The date of Apple's next virtual event has finally been confirmed. The corporation will offer a live webcast for all people across the world to view next Tuesday. This Spring event, dubbed Peek Performance, is expected to reveal many new goods from the brand. Aside from the speculated products, we're convinced that the Cupertino tech behemoth will also release software upgrades. Here's what we anticipate to see at Apple's Peek Performance presentation next week.
Peek Performance: What to expect?
iPhone SE 3 (2022)
Rumors concerning the impending iPhone SE 3 (2022) have been circulating for some time. We anticipate that Apple will announce this low-cost phone at its Peek Performance event. Despite the possibility of a release next week, new iPhone will most likely retain the same, old iPhone 8 design. The most significant change we anticipate is the addition of 5G functionality, as well as the use of Apple's A15 Bionic CPU. The handset is expected to maintain the majority of the features of the previous-generation iPhone SE.
iPad Air 5 (2022)
Apple has redesigned the iPad Air 4 (2020)'s shell, bringing a new, sleek appearance to the table. Thinner bezels and no actual home button distinguish this new design. Instead, the company has placed Touch ID on the power button and replaced the lost button with a software-based bar.
We anticipate that, in addition to the iPhone SE 3 (2022), Apple will introduce the iPad Air 5 (2022) during its Peek Performance event. Rumors suggest that this tablet may include optional 5G capability. However, we won't know for sure until the corporation makes an official announcement about the product. Given that the previous-generation model had a facelift, we don't anticipate any significant modifications in this one.
Mac
Aside from the iPhone SE 3 (2022) and iPad Air 5 (2022), we anticipate seeing at least one improved Mac model during Peek Performance assuming the rumours are genuine. If the firm does introduce one, we believe it will be the rumoured Mac Mini. Previous rumours indicate that it will have a redesigned exterior and may have the M1 Pro and/or M1 Max processors. There have also been rumours about a revamped MacBook Air with a multicoloured casing. However, we anticipate that this model will not be unveiled until later this year.
Apple regularly distributes new software upgrades after the main keynote of a large event. These often involve version bumps throughout the whole range of operating systems offered by the firm. So, following Peek Performance, we should get iOS 15.4, macOS Monterey 12.3, and watchOS 8.5. The business has been beta testing these versions for a few weeks, and stable releases should be available by then. If Apple does truly release these, the public will be able to use new emoji, Universal Control, and Face ID functionality when masked on some devices.
On Tuesday, we'll be reporting and commenting on the announcements as they happen. So keep an eye out for updates during and after the Peek Performance event.
