When looking for camera applications on the Play Store, you may find yourself browsing for what seems like hours. It's nice to have so many options, but it can also be a little overwhelming, and it's easy to forget that security and privacy may not always be top priority in the app's development. So it's encouraging to hear that GrapheneOS has developed a few of apps that prioritise personal privacy.

The GrapheneOS applications are Secure Camera and Secure PDF, as first reported by XDA, and sure, they are all about privacy. Secure Camera works well with phones such as the Google Pixel range and can do a number of typical activities other than photography, such as scanning QR codes and standard barcodes. Secure Camera merely requests camera access and performs storage and sound recording tasks that do not necessitate any additional permissions. If geotagging is already enabled, it will prompt you for permission to use your location and will automatically remove the EXIF metadata from your images. Secure PDF follows suit in terms of security and requires no extra permissions to function.

You may look at the code for Secure Camera and Secure PDF on Github because they are open-source. Both are now available on the Google Play Store; simply click the link below.
