Google is preparing to debut its next Pixel series smartphone, which will be a cheaper version of the Pixel 6 series branded Google Pixel 6a, which will be a successor to the Pixel 5a.

According to a new report from Jon Prosser, the technology giant may release the Pixel 6a smartphone on July 28th. He claims that the device will be officially announced at Google I/O in May, but that the launch date in many regions has been pushed back.

The Google Pixel 6a is rumoured to be codenamed "Bluejay" and will be available in three colours: black, white, and green. We anticipate learning more about the device's pricing and availability in the coming weeks or months.

Coming to the specifications, previous leaks have indicated that the smartphone will feature a 6.2-inch OLED display and will feature an under-display fingerprint sensor. Similar to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, this one too will be powered by the Google Tensor chipset and have 128GB of internal storage.

There will be a 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 main sensor and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide angle lens in the camera. The device's front-facing camera will be placed inside a punch-hole cutout.

According to the source, the next-generation Google Pixel 7 series smartphones, as well as the company's own Pixel Watch, might be released in October of this year. The Pixel Watch may be teased during the Google I/O event, according to rumours.
