The Garmin Descent G1 is a robust wristwatch geared towards dives. The Descent G1 is available in two models: solar-powered and non-solar. The timepieces come in four different colour variations and have a range of diving modes for consumers to choose from. Aside from diving, the wearable can track and monitor your health, including all-day respiration and fitness age. While in dive mode, the watches has a battery life of up to 25 hours on a single charge.

In the United States, the new Garmin Descent G1 costs $549.99 (about Rs. 41,630). The Garmin Descent G1 Solar model, on the other hand, costs $649.99. (roughly Rs. 49,220).

The Garmin Descent G1 (including solar and non-solar models) is available in four colour options: black, hurricane blue, powder grey, and slate grey. The wearable's availability in India has yet to be disclosed.

The Garmin Descent G1 is equipped with a power sapphire lens. The casing and bezel are composed of fiber-reinforced polymer. The monochromatic, transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP) display has a two-window architecture with a 176x176 pixel display resolution. The wearable weighs 61g, measures 45.5mm in diameter, and is waterproof to 100m.

Garmin's Descent G1 dive computer supports a variety of dive modes, ranging from difficult to free dives, such as single-gas mode, gauge mode, apnea mode, nitrox mode, and so on. The smartwatch has a capacity of 200 dives. The Garmin Dive app allows users to submit, share, and evaluate dives. The gadget is GPS-enabled to assist divers in navigating their route.

The Garmin Descent G1 also allows users to track their activity away from the water. The wearable has over 30 built-in sports applications and training tools. The wristwatch has a step counter, calories burnt tracking, and a measure of the user's Move IQ. There are certain useful features tailored to specific sports, such as golfing, swimming, and boating.

The wristwatch has a respiration rate monitor, heart rate monitor, blood oxygen saturation level (SpO2) measurement, fitness age determination, water reminders, and a sleep cycle tracker. The Descent G1 is also equipped with a compass, thermometer, and gyroscope. The watch has smart functions such as Find My Phone. When coupled with an iPhone or an Android device, the wearable also allows users to make calls from their wrists. The device also has a Garmin Pay function for contactless payments.

In dive mode, the new Garmin Descent G1 has a battery life of up to 25 hours on a single charge. Garmin claims that while not in diving mode, the smartwatch's battery life may last up to 21 days. When in power saver mode, the wearable may last up to 48 days. The solar model, on the other hand, may run for up to four months on a single charge (considering all-day wear with three hours of daylight exposure daily).
