On March 17, Samsung unveiled the new A-series. In a little side note, the maker also mentioned the Galaxy A73. However, there was little information available on Samsung's largest model of mid-range smartphones. It is now known that it will be introduced in limited territories with the Galaxy A33 with a hefty camera update.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • On April 22, the Samsung Galaxy A73 will be available in select markets.
  • The main camera has a resolution of 108MP.
  • There is currently no word about a debut in the United States.

Every year, the mid-range series from Samsung draws attention. The Samsung Galaxy A52 was one of the most popular smartphones in 2021, and the company hopes to build on that popularity with the new A-series. However, the largest model, the Samsung Galaxy A73, was not shown.

In a side note, the firm only specified the largest A model. It is expected to be on sale on April 22 with the Samsung Galaxy A33; however, further comprehensive information on the Galaxy A73 has been lacking until now. Thankfully, new information regarding the mid-range flagship has surfaced on the internet.

Flagship camera for a mid-range smartphone

The Samsung Galaxy A73 comes with a quad-camera system that includes a 108-megapixel primary camera. Such a resolution for a midranger is remarkable. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy A53 boasts a 64-megapixel primary camera.

A 108 MP resolution is normally reserved for far more costly flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The A73 has a 12-megapixel Ultra wide-angle camera, as well as a depth camera and a macro camera, both of which have 5 megapixels. As a result, Samsung eliminates the telephoto camera seen in the predecessor.

No Exynos processor

The CPU is not specified on Samsung's official website. It simply mentions an octa-core processor. However, SamMobile claims that it is most likely a Snapdragon 778G. This also differentiates the CPU from the other A-series devices, which have gotten a previously undisclosed Exynos 1280.

Other technological characteristics, including as the 5,000 mAh battery, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, and expandable storage, are comparable to those of its brothers. You will very certainly need to purchase a charger separately here as well, as Samsung has discontinued the chargers from the series. Unfortunately, no pricing information for the mid-range flagship is available at this time. If Samsung continues true to form, we may expect a comparable release pricing to the Galaxy A72. The international version of the A72 is presently available for around $450.
