In China, the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T are starting to receive the stable version of ColorOS 12, which is based on Android 12.

Users on public beta builds began receiving the update via OTA on March 16th, while HydrogenOS 11 users are receiving it as part of a batch rollout that began on March 17th.

However, OnePlus acknowledges that there are a couple of bugs that are shared by the three devices on the build. First, the camera indicator may occasionally appear in the status bar even when the camera is not running, and second, face unlock may occasionally fail to work. When the latter occurs, the solution is simple: simply restart the device or re-add the face.

Please keep in mind that the update being discussed here is currently only being rolled out in China, but it should be rolled out globally soon, most likely with the aforementioned bugs fixed.

The OxygenOS 12 Open Beta programme is already testing some global variants of the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8T. Enrolled users will benefit from new features such as a new system interface, adjustable dark mode, shelf changes, a Work-Life Balance feature, and more.

It's worth noting that OxygenOS 12 marks the software's transition from an independent skin to the same base as ColorOS 12. There were plans to further unify the two skins with a "Unified OS," but these were scrapped.
