  • BSNL Fiber Entry is the company's most affordable broadband Internet plan.
  • The package includes 20Mbps download speeds and up to 1000GB of data per month.
  • With the service, BSNL members will also receive free local and long-distance calls.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a new Fibre Entry monthly broadband plan for consumers starting at Rs. 329. The new broadband Internet service from BSNL Bharat Fiber would give up to 20Mbps speed. It is presently only accessible in a few states. According to the service provider, the package includes a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) maximum of 1,000GB (1TB), beyond which members will be able to surf at reduced rates. Users will also be able to make local and long-distance calls to any network in India.

In certain states where the plan is now available, the new Fibre Entry broadband plan is mentioned on the BSNL website. TelecomTalk was the first to report on the plan's specifics. The BSNL Bharat Fibre Entry package is advertised as providing 1TB of high-speed data at a rate of 20Mbps. According to the BSNL website, when 1TB of data has been used, the speed would drop to 2Mbps.

The new Fibre Entry monthly plan from BSNL costs Rs. 329, which is Rs. 120 cheaper than the Fiber Basic Plan, which costs Rs. 449. The latter provides 30Mbps high-speed surfing with a FUP limit of 3,300GB (3.3TB), beyond which browsing speeds decrease to 2Mbps. As previously stated, BSNL's Fibre Entry plan includes unlimited local and STD calls to any network, as well as a 90 percent reduction on the first month's fee.

While the plan's pricing is Rs. 329, it is exclusive of taxes, so customers will have to pay a total of Rs. 388 (with 18 percent GST or Rs. 59 as an additional) and offers a cheaper alternative to subscribers who do not want a lot of data per month. The package is only accessible in some places, and BSNL is yet to say if it will be extended to all states.

Meanwhile, BSNL faces competition from Reliance Jio, which recently surpassed the state-run telecom operator as the largest broadband service provider with 4.34 million users. Reliance Jio's subscriber number climbed to 4.34 million in November 2021, according to statistics from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), while BSNL's customer base decreased to 4.2 million. Bharti Airtel's wired broadband customer base increased to 4.08 million, and the company is anticipated to surpass BSNL in the near future.
