Since January, Xiaomi has been seeding the MIUI 13 upgrade to compatible devices. The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is the latest smartphone to receive the latest version of the company's mobile software. The upgrade comes less than a month after the Redmi K50G, also known as the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, was released.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition's MIUI 13 version is based on Android 12. This is being deployed in batches, just like any other OTA system update.

In other words, it is restricted to a small number of users. If there are no major bugs, the build should reach a larger number of users in the next days.

V13.0.3.0.SKJCNXM is the build number for the most recent software update for the phone. It also includes security patches for January 2022, in addition to new features.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is a China-only gadget, for those who are unaware. In India, however, it is marketed as the POCO F3 GT. Because both smartphones are essentially the same and run identical firmware with regional changes, it should get the same treatment fairly soon.

That stated, MIUI 13 and Android 12 are the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition's first big MIUI and Android updates. According to Xiaomi's track record, the phone will most likely receive one more Android update and two more MIUI updates.
