Apple is anticipated to release a new Mac Mini model next year. We have previously reported on a number of speculations concerning its potential design and specs. However, according to a fresh source, it may not include the anticipated revamp after all.

According to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Cupertino-based behemoth would most likely keep the same design as the current generation iPhone. In other words, the 2021 Mac Mini will have the same aluminium unibody design that has been utilised on every Mac Mini since 2010. We highlighted another storey from Kuo earlier this week, in which he indicated that the business will not unveil its new high-end Mac Mini until next year.

However, recent speculations have suggested that the forthcoming Mac Mini model would include a revamped appearance. According to well-known leakers such as Jon Prosser, the iPhone manufacturer will release the mini PC with a smaller chassis and a new "plexiglass-like" top. Apple has been reported to be working on a new Mac Mini model for quite some time. As a result, it would not be surprising if it eventually intended to sell it with a makeover. This would be in line with the Mac Mini's hardware revision in November 2020, when it received the M1 chipset.

Previously, we reported on a rumour that suggested the company would release the next-generation Mac Mini with an M1 Pro and M1 Max chipset. However, it appears that these plans were scrapped in order to make way for the recently unveiled Mac Studio. Apple is now thought to be working on two Mac Mini variants. One may have an M2 chipset, while the other may have a higher-end edition with an M2 Pro chipset.
