We previously reported on Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst, predicting that the next iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will come with the last-generation A15 Bionic processor. New information, as well as some other intriguing data, has now been added to this information.

Other significant sources, such as Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, have also backed Kuo's assertion. If this is accurate, it will be the first time since the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C that the Cupertino-based company has split its iPhone chipsets. The A7 was used in the former, whereas the A6 was used in the later. According to a tip from iDrop News, the iPhone 14 series will also get a similar makeover this time.

This year's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models will reportedly use the same A15 Bionic technology that was used in the iPhone 13 series. To minimise any potential reaction, the new chipset will be renamed the A16, in keeping with the company's usual yearly chip upgrade cycle. The A16 Pro, on the other hand, might be the name of the real new processor, which will most likely be reserved for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

This decision, in particular, allows Apple to save money. With the tiny model being phased out, the range will now start at $799 USD, with the Max version costing an additional $100 USD. In other words, the corporation would be permitted to keep its typical pricing gap of $200 between its Pro and non-Pro devices.
