Evidence has emerged ahead of Apple's announcement on Tuesday revealing that the firm is testing the M2 Apple silicon processor, which will debut in a new MacBook Air and a revamped 13-inch MacBook Pro.
According to MacRumours, Apple has been testing a chip with an eight-core CPU and a ten-core GPU across several Macs in recent weeks on the newest macOS beta.
The M2 silicon chip from Apple will be the first substantial improvement to Apple's own silicon on the Mac since its launch.
The M1 processor was announced by the American tech company in November 2020, and it has since been followed by more powerful incarnations of the chip, including the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
According to previous speculations, the Apple M2 CPU would initially appear in an improved 13-inch MacBook Pro and a newly revamped MacBook Air.
According to a rumour acquired by MacRumours, a new Mac mini, likely to use M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, is "ready to go" and might be released next week, while a new 13-inch MacBook Pro and iMac could be released "as soon as the first part of the year."

A new iPad Air with the A15 CPU, Center Stage, and 5G connection is also expected to be unveiled at the event. Along with the new iPhone and iPad, as well as at least one new Apple silicon Mac.
