  • According to Downdetector.com, Apple iMessage had difficulties on Thursday.
  • Last year, DNS difficulties prompted major disruptions on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Earlier this week, Apple had similar difficulties.

After receiving complaints earlier in the day, Apple claimed it had rectified the issues that caused interruptions to its iMessage service, as the tech juggernaut dealt with disruptions to its cloud services for the third time this week.

User complaints of iMessage outages on Downdetector.com began to rise shortly after 4:20pm ET (1:50am IST) and eventually surpassed 1,100. Earlier this week, Apple experienced similar disruptions that disrupted services such as its mobile App Store and music streaming service.

The corporation did not react to an inquiry about the causes of the recent disruptions. According to Bloomberg News, Apple's corporate employees working from home and retail employees had technical difficulties on Monday owing to domain name system (DNS) problems.

In a number of incidents last year, problems with DNS - the internet's address book that allows computers to match website addresses with the correct server - caused widespread outages on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as bringing down airline and bank websites for several hours.
