Airtel and Tech Mahindra Join Forces for Digital Solutions in 5G, Private Networks, and Cloud

Bharti Airtel and Tech Mahindra established a strategic agreement on Thursday to jointly develop and commercialise enterprise-grade digital solutions in 5G, private networks, and cloud.

Airtel has been doing 5G demos and testing in India, while IT services behemoth Tech Mahindra has created 5G apps and platforms.

According to a release, Airtel and Tech Mahindra will collaborate to create and sell 5G use cases in India.

The two companies will establish a combined 5G innovation centre to create 'Make-in-India' application cases for the Indian and worldwide markets.

They will also bring customised enterprise-grade private networks to market, which will be at the heart of the digital economy.

Airtel's integrated connectivity portfolio of 5G ready mobile network, fibre, and Internet of Things (IoT) will be combined with Tech Mahindra's system integration expertise to create these solutions.

The firms will initially concentrate on categories such as autos, aircraft, ports, utilities, chemicals, oil and gas before expanding into other industries.

According to the release, Airtel and Tech Mahindra would also provide cloud and Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions to enterprises.

"With established technical capabilities and strong consumer trust shared by the two companies, we feel this is a win-win relationship," said Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, CEO-Enterprise Business, Bharti Airtel.

Manish Vyas, President, Communications, Media and Entertainment Business, and CEO, Network Services, Tech Mahindra, stated that the 5G ecosystem will open up enormous opportunities for industries across sectors to improve productivity and customer experience via digitally-powered new-age platforms and solutions.
