WhatsApp has begun to roll out a new voice call interface for iOS beta users. Waveforms for group voice calls are also stored on the device. This capability was previously available to certain Android beta testers and was initially discovered in December. The announcement comes only a few days after an upgrade for iOS devices, including iPhone and iPad models, made it possible for users to play voice messages in the background. Users may now play voice messages and audio files outside of the chat window thanks to the upgrade.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp for iOS beta 22.5.0.70 has provided the new voice calling interface to certain beta testers. The Meta-owned instant messaging programme will feature a revamped group call interface, and once activated, users will be able to observe real-time speech waveforms to alert them about the active speakers throughout the conversation, according to WABetaInfo. The makeover is also rumoured to incorporate a wallpaper to voice call interface that cannot yet be modified.

As previously stated, the new voice calling interface was already made available to select beta testers on Android earlier this month. On both systems, the feature is quite similar. Back in December, it was discovered that WhatsApp was developing a new voice calling interface.

WhatsApp has announced an iOS update that allows iPhone and iPad users to play voice messages in the background. Users may now play voice messages and audio files outside of the chat window thanks to the upgrade. There is currently no word on when this update will be released for Android smartphones or the Web app.
