Twitter is releasing a feature that allows users to choose the pace at which videos play on the network. The social media network has revealed that it is testing additional video playback speed choices on the Twitter app for Android and Web. Some test participants claim to have noticed a little gear to vary the speed when watching movies. They are given the choice of either slowing down or speeding up a video. The functionality is gradually being rolled out and should be available to all users in the near future.

The video playback speed option on Twitter is still under testing and is only available to a small number of users. Users who have access to the playback speed choices will notice a little gear that allows them to modify the pace of the movie. The video material can be slowed down by 0.25x or accelerated by 2x. This functionality will provide customers more options for watching video material. The functionality has not yet been added to the Twitter app for iPhone and iPad devices.

Twitter is also rumoured to be working on a new Twitter Articles feature that would allow users to publish tweets with longer text. According to information posted on Twitter by reverse engineering specialist Jane Manchun Wong, the business may allow users to make articles that exceed the current 280-character restriction on the network. Users may now tweet larger text chunks via threads, but the new capability may allow for continuous content in a single tweet. Twitter has yet to make a formal announcement on Twitter Articles.

Twitter said earlier this month that it is expanding the experimental feature that allows users to downvote answers within tweets to a global audience. Last year, the functionality was tested with a small group of iOS users. Twitter stated that the ability to downvote comments is intended to aid in understanding the sorts of responses that people find relevant in a conversation. Downvotes, on the other hand, are not visible to the general public. This is in contrast to sites such as Reddit, where both upvotes and downvotes are exposed for the public to see in order to determine if the masses liked or hated a given comment.
