The Amazon Appstore Preview includes over 1,000 Android apps and games.

More Android applications will be supported in Windows 11, Microsoft's newest operating system. The Redmond-based firm has partnered with Amazon to integrate Amazon Appstore into Microsoft Store, allowing users to download over 1,000 Android applications and games on Windows 11 PCs. Starting Tuesday in the United States, the public preview of Android applications and games such as Audible and Kindle will be accessible in Windows 11. The taskbar has also been improved in the recent Windows 11 version. On other displays connected to the PC, devices running Windows 11 will now show the clock and date on the taskbar. The Notepad and Media Player applications have also been overhauled by Microsoft.

On a blog post on Tuesday, Microsoft announced the availability of Amazon Appstore Preview in the Microsoft Store. The preview, which gives users access to just over 1,000 applications, is now accessible in the United States, as previously said. Audible, Kindle, Subway Surfers, Lords Mobile, and Khan Academy Kids are among the apps highlighted in the blog article. Microsoft has teamed up with Intel to provide a new category of mobile apps and games to Windows PCs using Intel Bridge technology.

To access mobile apps via the Amazon Appstore Preview, Windows 11 PCs must have at least 8GB of RAM and a solid-state drive (SSD). Intel Core i3 8th Gen, AMD Ryzen 3000, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c or above are the minimum CPU specs.

Users can check out the Windows 11 Amazon Appstore Preview by following these steps:

  1. Open the Microsoft Store and get the latest update by tapping Get updates > Library.
  2. Search for required apps or games.
  3. Download it through the Amazon Appstore.

Microsoft is improving the taskbar in tandem with the Amazon Appstore Preview. The date and time have been added to the taskbar on other displays, modifying multi-monitor capabilities in Windows 11. Similarly, in the left-hand corner of the taskbar, live weather material will be shown. Microsoft Teams customers with business or school accounts may now mute/unmute and share any window right from the taskbar with the newest version. These features will be available in the non-security preview release in February 2022.

Users will also receive updated versions of Media Player and Notepad. With new keyboard shortcuts and access keys, the Media Player allows users to browse quickly. Groove Music will be replaced with the new Media Player app. Users' Groove Music libraries and playlists will be instantly transferred to the new platform. The Notepad app will also get a new user interface and dark mode support. Multi-level undo, colourful emoticons, and a new find-and-replace experience are among the new features available to users.
