Experience guiding explorations and developing innovative products was requested in the job posting
According to Statista, 381 million monthly active users (MAUs) worldwide streamed music or podcasts on Spotify in the third quarter of 2021.
Given that worldwide music artists such as Travis Scott, Justin Bieber, Marshmello, and Ariana Grande have recently performed in the metaverse, it seems reasonable for Spotify to investigate Web3 efforts.
However, Spotify is not the only well-known business attempting to enter the Web3 area.
YouTube is looking for a project management director to create and lead its Web3 strategy and incorporate aspects like non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the metaverse into its platform, which is utilised by over two billion people globally.
T-Series, an Indian music company, has also just announced its entry into the metaverse in collaboration with Hungama Digital to develop NFTs from its large collection of new and current Bollywood material.
Microsoft just posted a similar job opening as well. Earlier this month, the software giant advertised for a Director of Business Development - Cryptocurrencies, and the application process was completed in three days.
