HIGHLIGHTS
- On January 10, the Galaxy S21 FE was released in India.
- In India, the smartphone is powered by the Exynos 2100 SoC.
- The Galaxy S21 FE smartphone has comparable characteristics as the Galaxy S20 FE smartphone.
According to user reviews on the official Samsung forums from Samsung Galaxy S21 FE customers, the smartphone appears to have a problem where the interface slows down when in use. The most recent allegation, dated January 17, claims that the smartphone's refresh rate falls below 60Hz, creating latency and stuttering in the UI. According to the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos model), the problem appears with the most recent One UI 4 upgrade. According to the forum post, restarting the smartphone appears to temporarily alleviate the issue.
Similarly, another post from an Indian Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos model) user last month claims that the smartphone's refresh rate is poor whether locked and unlocked. According to the user, the refresh rate appears to be lower than 60Hz, and the only method to remedy the issue is to enable and disable power saving mode, or to adjust the refresh rate to 60Hz and then back to 120Hz. However, the user notes that the repair is just temporary and must be applied on a frequent basis. Another user says that the same problem happens after using the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone.
Meanwhile, an earlier this month complaint from an Indian user indicates the same issue with the Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos model), causing scrolling to become choppy following an apparent dip in frame rate or refresh rate. As in prior articles, the user appears to have discovered a temporary solution to the problem by switching to 60Hz refresh rate and then back to 120Hz. SamMobile discovered the problem on the freshly released smartphone.
