Reddit announced the addition of new capabilities to Reddit Talk in a blog post on Wednesday. As previously stated, the new upgrade allows listeners and hosts to reach out to a larger audience by making recordings of previous sessions available. The recorded sessions include a playback bar that allows Reddit users to skip, pause, or unpause the recording, as well as fast-forward or rewind it.
Users may now use Reddit Talk features via a web browser, according to the most recent upgrade. Through Reddit's website, people may join the Talk sessions as listeners and raise their hands to talk. Later this month, the social networking site plans to introduce the option to start a Reddit discussion on desktop.
The business has introduced support for comments and emoticons to let users to express their opinions during Reddit Talks. Redditors may participate in conversations without speaking thanks to this feature. Finally, Reddit is testing a new live bar at the top of the page that displays when there are live Reddit Talks.
In April of last year, Reddit launched Reddit Talk as its own live audio platform. Since then, the social network firm has been constantly introducing new features to compete with Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces. The latest Reddit Talk upgrade comes far later than its competitors, who debuted comparable capabilities in 2021.
