HIGHLIGHTS
- Low ratings were due to leaving a mess of a trail.
- Both Uber drivers and riders may rate each other.
- Uber has also provided some pointers on how to enhance your ratings.
"You'll see how many drivers gave you a wonderful 5-star rating, how many gave you the dreaded single star, and everything in between," Uber notes in a blog post, which also outlines what factors influence the ratings riders receive from their drivers. The business has identified five major variables that cause drivers to be sparing with their ratings, ranging from slamming the door to pick-up delays.
Uber drivers were asked to explain why they gave out less stars. The top two causes on the list were leaving a mess and not wearing a seat belt. Making a rider wait was the third most common cause for drivers to lower a rider's rating. Disrespectful behaviour toward the driver was mentioned as another factor that had a significant impact on a customer's rating. The sixth cause on the list was slamming the car door, which frequently resulted in drivers losing stars.
If you want to see your Uber ratings, here's how you look them up on the app:
- Navigate to the Uber app's Settings menu. Tap Privacy, followed by Privacy Center.
- Swipe to the right to see the tile "Would you want to get a summary of how you use Uber?" Simply click on it.
- Scroll all the way down to the "Browse your data" section. To examine the rating breakdown, click "View my ratings."
On each journey, both Uber drivers and customers may rate it from one to five stars. The rating is determined by averaging the ratings of your previous 500 excursions.
Uber has also provided some pointers on how to enhance your ratings. Be ready before the car comes, buckle up when you enter, be civil in your chats, don't leave a mess behind when you're ready to go, and, most importantly, don't slam the door.
