Carl Pei, the creator of Nothing, previewed the introduction of the phone in a series of tweets. Pei sent out cryptic tweets to which the official Android and Snapdragon Twitter accounts responded. Last year, nothing began its adventure with truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones. Pei, on the other hand, said in October that Nothing has formed a collaboration with Qualcomm to begin leveraging its Snapdragon platform in future products. The Nothing phone, according to the rumour mill, may become a reality in the coming days.
Pei also posted a reaction from one of his fans, which included a concept sketch of the Nothing phone.
The official accounts of Android and Snapdragon joined the teases just hours after Pei launched his mystery tweets by reacting to his first tweet in the series.
"We've got a lot to catch up on Carl [sic]," says a tweet from the Android account. In a similar vein, the Snapdragon account posted a graphic depicting the collaboration between Nothing, Android, and Qualcomm.
All of this suggests that Pei is alluding about the arrival of the highly anticipated Nothing phone.
Although the London-based business has not verified any specifics regarding the smartphone, 91Mobiles reported last year that the device might be released in early 2022. The business is also said to be working on a power bank that will be released before the phone and will be dubbed the Nothing Power (1).
Pei, 32, quit OnePlus in 2020 to launch a new company called Nothing. The company's debut gadget, the Nothing Ear 1, marked the start of its journey. To entice customers, the earbuds came with a transparent design and contained capabilities like active noise cancelling, cross-platform compatibility, and wireless charging.
The Nothing Ear 1 earphones have sold over 100,000 units in less than two months since they were on sale in August.
Nothing collaborated with Qualcomm and purchased smartphone company Essential in addition to selling the earphones. Those efforts are anticipated to aid the company's expansion beyond audio equipment and into the smartphone market. Former Samsung executive Manu Sharma is one of the company's resources, and he will help create tactics for selling phones in competitive areas like India.
