  • The Asus 8z has been teased with a sweat-resistant feature.
  • The phone(s) will be unveiled during a virtual event.
  • The Asus 8z might include a twin back camera configuration.
The Asus 8z India launch date has been set for February 28. Apart from the launch date, Asus hasn't divulged much about the device. Last year, the Taiwanese business released the Asus ZenFone 8, and ZenFone 8 Flip smartphones internationally, which are expected to debut in India as the Asus 8z and Asus 8z Flip devices. It should be noted that Asus will not be able to launch the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip in India under the same name since the Zen and ZenMobile trademarks are controlled by a separate firm in the country.

Asus disclosed in a tweet that the Asus 8z smartphone(s) would be unveiled during an event on February 28 at 12 p.m. (noon). It has been hinted that the phone would be "Big on performance, Compact in Size," implying that there will be only one handset. Asus has also hinted that the phone is sweat-resistant, implying a high IP certification. The Asus 8z will only be available on Flipkart.

Asus teased the release of new smartphones in India last year, but the business did not do so. It was expected that the phones released as the Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip will be released in India as the Asus 8z and Asus 8z Flip.

Specifications for the Asus 8z and Asus 8z Flip (expected)

The specs of the Asus ZenFone 8 series worldwide variations and Indian variants were anticipated to be the same, according to a teaser released last year. If these phones are released in India as part of the Asus 8z line, they may feature identical characteristics, but with some enhancements. However, because there has been no clarification from the corporation on this, it is only conjecture at this moment.

The Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip smartphones both run Android 11 out of the box, with ZenUI 8 on top. The vanilla model has a 5.9-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixel) 120Hz Samsung AMOLED display, whilst the Flip model has a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixel) 90Hz Samsung AMOLED display. They have Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoCs with up to 8GB of RAM on the Flip model and up to 16GB of RAM on the non-Flip model. The two phones have UFS 3.1 storage capacities of up to 256GB.

The Asus ZenFone 8 has a dual rear camera arrangement with a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor for shooting. It has a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. For exact results, the ZenFone 8 Flip contains a stepper motor and an angle sensor. A 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel secondary sensor, and an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom comprise the camera configuration. The revolving camera also functions as a selfie camera.

The Asus ZenFone 8 Flip has a 5,000mAh battery, whereas the ZenFone 8 has a 4,000mAh battery. Both Quick Charge 4.0 and Power Delivery protocols are supported.
