The iPhone 13 is nearing the end of its life cycle, but we're already anticipating the iPhone 14. Why? There have been numerous rumours about the upcoming device, including what it will look like and what features it will include. In other words, while the phone may surprise us, we may have a good idea of what it will look like in the end.
If you bought an iPhone 12, you might not be interested in what the iPhone 13 has to offer. If you replace your phone every few years, the iPhone 14 may be more important to you. We'll keep you updated as we learn more about the upcoming phone. Everything you need to know is right here.
Design of the iPhone 14
The iPhone 12 received a major redesign, and while Apple typically keeps a design in place for three years, it may deviate from that trend. The iPhone 14 is expected to be a slight redesign, at least in some ways, compared to the iPhone 13. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the iPhone 14 will feature an entirely new design. We've heard a lot of rumours about the device's notch. Earlier rumours suggested that the iPhone would have a pill-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors, but new rumours indicate that there will be two cutouts. A mockup created by YouTuber "the Hacker 34" depicts what this could look like.
iPhone 14 Specifications
The iPhone 14's screen
With the addition of ProMotion, or a 120Hz refresh rate, to the iPhone 13 Pro models, Apple has made the most significant change to the iPhone's display in years. While initial reports suggested that the technology would be available on standard models as well, new reports from display analyst Ross Young suggest that ProMotion will only be available on the iPhone 14 Pro models. According to The Elec, Samsung and LG may both supply displays for the iPhone 14 series.
Apple may also begin to improve the iPhone's screen resolution. Most high-end phones have displays with a resolution of at least 1,440p, but the iPhone 12 still has a 1,170p display.
Touch ID on the iPhone may also make a comeback in the 2022 iPhone. According to reports, Apple intends to add in-display fingerprint sensors to the iPhone series. Early reports suggested that the technology would make its way to the iPhone 13, but that didn't happen. According to recent rumours, it will most likely be released on the iPhone 14.
Camera on iPhone 14
The iPhone 14's camera will almost certainly be improved. Apple included the larger sensor found in the iPhone 12 Pro Max in the iPhone 13 series' lower-end models. So, what do you think Apple will do in 2022? According to the latest rumours, Apple will include a 48-megapixel main camera with 8K video recording in the iPhone. The information comes from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also mentioned that the iPhone 15 series might get a periscope lens.
It's possible that Apple will add additional cameras to the iPhone 14 series. Quad camera systems have been added to the high-end phones of some smartphone manufacturers, including Samsung. It's possible that Apple will follow suit. It's possible that the lower-end devices will get a third camera, while the Pro model will get a fourth.
According to a note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the device could have 48-megapixel main cameras, a significant increase in resolution over current models' 12-megapixel cameras.
When will the iPhone 14 be released?
Because the iPhone 13 was just released, the iPhone 14 will most likely be a year away. Apple typically releases new iPhone models in September, and we don't see that changing anytime soon. As a result, the series could debut in September 2022.
But what about the costs? If Apple eliminates the "Mini" device and maintains the standard phone's pricing, we could have an iPhone for every $100 increment between $800 and $1,100. In other words, the iPhone 14 could cost $800, $900 for the iPhone 14 Max, $1,000 for the iPhone 14 Pro, and $1,100 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. But we'll have to wait and see if that's the case.
